Salary: USD 157,000 - 184,000 / annual
Cowboy Space Corp. is building orbital infrastructure to power and connect the space economy. Founded in 2024 by Baiju Bhatt (Robinhood co-founder) and backed by leading investors, the company operates satellites in Low Earth Orbit to collect sunlight, transmit energy via infrared lasers, and deliver secure optical data. The team is drawn from top aerospace and defense organizations and is moving quickly to solve complex technical challenges in space infrastructure.
As Technical Program Manager, you will serve as the connective tissue across the engineering team, driving a launch vehicle program from early development through production. This is a hands-on coordination role focused on ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Key responsibilities include: owning and maintaining the integrated program schedule across propulsion, structures, avionics, and vehicle design; tracking costs against budget and flagging variances early; running standups, syncs, and program reviews; identifying when one team's deliverable blocks another and brokering resolution before problems escalate; sequencing work across disciplines to ensure long-lead items, test campaigns, and design reviews occur in the right order; creating and maintaining clear documentation including decision logs, action items, and interface agreements; and communicating status up, down, and sideways so no one is surprised.
You will need 2–5 years of experience in program management, systems engineering, or technical operations (aerospace preferred but not required). Strong technical intuition is essential—you don't need to run CFD but must understand why a turbopump test matters to the vehicle schedule. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required, along with a bias toward action, comfort operating with ambiguity, experience with scheduling tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar), and meticulous organizational skills.
Preferred qualifications include startup or small hardware company experience, familiarity with rocket propulsion or launch vehicle development, experience with cost/schedule tracking frameworks, and a background in systems engineering or integration roles.
