LatchBio is building AI agents that help scientists analyze and interpret data from spatial and multi-omic tools in biotech. The company has introduced SpatialBench, the first benchmark suite for spatial biology agents, and is expanding benchmarking infrastructure across biology domains.
As Technical Ops & Enablement Engineer, you'll own the technical enablement platform that hundreds of scientists use to build benchmarks. This hybrid product, operations, and engineering role combines hands-on technical work with direct user engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the complete technical enablement lifecycle: provision access for new team members on day one, manage departures, and maintain reliable offboarding
- Administer identity and access across Google Workspace, GitHub, Slack, AWS/GCP, VPN, and internal systems; manage groups, permissions, SSO/SCIM, and conduct periodic access reviews
- Manage SaaS seats, licenses, admin consoles, and renewals
- Build automation workflows to eliminate manual toil from common business processes
- Enforce security and compliance: device policies, MFA, least-privilege access, offboarding checks, and access audits
- Own platform support: triage and fix bugs, escalate to engineering with clear context, and keep scientists informed
- Drive enablement and training: ensure new bioengineers can confidently use the platform within their first week; partner on training sessions, run beta programs, and track adoption metrics
- Maintain feature documentation and refine cross-team communication processes
The role is based in San Francisco with an in-person engineering team and daily scrums. You'll work closely with founders, the CPO, operations team, and bioengineers across the company.
Requirements:
- 2+ years in IT, systems administration, or IT/eng ops at a fast-moving tech company
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace admin, an MDM (Jamf, Kandji, or similar), and an identity provider with SSO/SCIM
- Comfortable with Python, Bash, and similar scripting languages; experience with AI and workflow automation tools
- Working knowledge of AWS/GCP IAM and GitHub org admin; ability to read code, reproduce bugs, and ship small fixes
- Security mindset: default to least privilege, conduct strong access reviews, and ideally have experience collecting compliance evidence (SOC 2 or similar)
- Strong written communication and ability to train non-engineers on technical products
- Understanding of how to automate systems with AI and when not to
- Bonus: scientific background in biology, bioinformatics, lab experience, or prior support/solutions engineering for technical products
