Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer to join its Deployment Operations group in London. This role focuses on deploying and supporting Anduril's counter-UAS and counter-intrusion systems globally.
You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting advanced defense systems in the field, often in austere and remote environments. Key responsibilities include mastering sensor and effector systems, troubleshooting hardware and software integration issues, configuring IP networks (fiber optic, Ethernet, RF), managing RF systems and antenna concepts, and providing technical training to customers and end-users.
You will work closely with Mission Operations teams, engineering groups, and customers to iteratively improve products during early lifecycle stages. This includes live demonstrations, training, and full customer deployments. You'll also advise account managers on operational structuring and communicate product refinement recommendations to engineering teams.
The role requires strong problem-solving skills in unstructured situations at the intersection of hardware, software, and networking. You must be able to operate independently and in teams, gather requirements from end-users, and communicate complex technical subjects with clarity. You'll develop operational and logistics plans to move people and equipment quickly across unfamiliar locations.
Required qualifications include understanding of AC/DC power systems, electrical fault-finding, IP network configuration and troubleshooting, RF systems experience, systematic troubleshooting and documentation skills, and the ability to work in austere environments (climbing towers, using hand tools, lifting 50-70 lbs). You must be willing to travel extensively—up to 80% of the year, including up to two months at a time to remote regions. UK security clearance eligibility and passport required.
Preferred qualifications include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; prior military or overseas contracting experience; Linux OS familiarity; and strong mechanical aptitude with tools and electronics.
