Salary: USD 207,000 - 259,000 / annual

Archer Technologies is building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise, advancing sustainable air mobility. As Technical Lead for the Turbogenerator system, you will own the complete turbogenerator subsystem and lead a multidisciplinary team of experts in fuel systems, turbine design, exhaust, and thermal management. Your responsibilities include managing the turbogenerator team, ensuring successful integration, testing, and certification of the turboshaft within the aircraft. You will optimize turboshaft design for the integrated unit, manage technical, certification, and program risks, and direct all testing, verification, and certification programs. You'll define turboshaft sub-systems and integration challenges for mechanical and systems engineers, and establish the development strategy for both the turbogenerator and the broader hybrid-powertrain architecture. You bring 10+ years of turboshaft design and engine control experience, with strong fundamentals in turboshaft operation and demonstrated expertise applying Part-33/CS-E certification standards to novel systems. You have experience with industry-standard tools, methods, and processes, and can execute with both speed and rigor. Your systematic problem-solving approach enables you to communicate complex technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders. You are self-motivated, capable of leading technical initiatives independently, and excel at writing comprehensive technical reports. Nice-to-have qualifications include prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains; familiarity with FAA or EASA certification of electric powertrains; and knowledge of simulation model validation and uncertainty quantification methods. A BS, MS, or PhD in a related scientific or engineering field is required.
