Juniper Square is seeking a Technical Lead to architect and oversee the development of scalable web applications and distributed systems for the private markets finance platform. You will lead the design and delivery of end-to-end systems—from user-facing applications to backend services and cloud infrastructure—while guiding engineering teams and driving architectural decisions.
In this role, you'll provide hands-on technical leadership across the full stack. On the backend, you'll architect and build services using Python/FastAPI (preferred) or Java, designing scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs with strong focus on performance and security. You'll build asynchronous processing pipelines using Celery, RabbitMQ, or Redis, optimize database schemas with PostgreSQL/MySQL/NoSQL, and implement caching strategies for high throughput.
On the frontend, you'll develop modern web applications using ReactJS and TypeScript, design reusable UI components, implement state management and API integrations, and collaborate with design and product teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.
You'll also own cloud infrastructure and DevOps, deploying and optimizing applications on AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch), implementing CI/CD pipelines, using Docker and Kubernetes for containerization, and ensuring system observability through logging and monitoring.
A significant advantage is experience leveraging AI tools and building AI-driven solutions—developing intelligent features, automation, and data-driven capabilities. You may contribute to or lead development of AI-powered features such as intelligent search, conversational interfaces, or recommendation systems using LLMs, embeddings, and RAG pipelines.
You'll define coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, mentor developers across frontend and backend domains, and drive adoption of cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices while ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
