Datadog's Technical Escalation Engineering (TEE) team is seeking a Technical Escalations Engineer 2 specializing in Real User Monitoring (RUM) for the APJ region. This role sits at the intersection of customer success, product engineering, and platform development, where you'll tackle complex technical challenges and drive observability innovation. You'll investigate and resolve escalated customer issues related to RUM, including session tracking, telemetry collection, SDK behavior, and performance metrics across web and mobile platforms. You'll lead high-stakes technical calls with enterprise customers, conduct deep-dive troubleshooting sessions, and drive solutions with urgency and precision. A key part of your impact involves mentoring the Global Support Engineering team through office hours, learning sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, ensuring the broader team is equipped to handle complex RUM challenges. You'll partner closely with Datadog's Engineering and Product teams to identify platform gaps, validate improvements, and influence the product roadmap based on real-world customer use cases. You'll contribute to internal tooling, playbooks, and enablement resources that scale RUM expertise across the Solutions organization. Your technical foundation should include solid understanding of client-side instrumentation, browser-based and mobile SDKs, and the ability to reproduce and diagnose issues in customer environments. This is a hybrid role based in the APJ region (Seoul, Sydney, or Tokyo), offering the opportunity to shape the future of observability while working with some of the world's most innovative companies. You'll operate in a fast-moving environment that values curiosity, ownership, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
