Salary: EUR 66,000 - 83,000 / annual

In this role, you will report to the Director of Engineering and lead a team of engineers building Sysdig's runtime agent—the software customers install directly in their environments and the primary data source for the platform. You will own technical direction, hiring, team growth, and performance management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and growing an engineering team with hiring, mentoring, and performance management while remaining hands-on with the most technically demanding work
- Reviewing designs and code across the team, unblocking engineers on complex problems, and staying involved in cross-cutting technical work
- Partnering with product, detection, and security research teams to deliver new functionality without regressing performance or stability in production
- Managing a distributed team with long-term roadmap planning and cross-team feature coordination
- Growing the team through periods of rapid product change
You will work on low-level, performance-critical systems software that runs continuously in production on customer infrastructure, with deep involvement in containerized and orchestrated systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience leading and managing an engineering team: hiring, mentoring, and performance management while maintaining technical depth to set direction and review work
- Extensive experience building and operating low-level, performance-critical systems software in C/C++ that runs continuously in production on customer infrastructure
- Working experience with containerized and orchestrated systems (Kubernetes, containerd, cgroup familiarity)
- Deep working knowledge of OS internals and instrumentation techniques such as eBPF or kernel modules
- Proficiency in Linux internals (required)
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale, including reliability and performance trade-offs for software running safely on every host or container
- Experience managing distributed teams with long-term roadmap planning and cross-team feature coordination
- Experience growing a team through rapid product change
- Plus: expertise in Go or Rust; knowledge of Windows and/or Mac internals
