Socket.dev is seeking a Technical Enablement Manager to own technical readiness across the Customer Engineering organization, starting with Sales Engineering. You'll report to the Head of Enablement and work closely with Sales Engineering leadership, TAM managers, CSM leaders, and Support to build scalable training and certification programs.
Key responsibilities include:
**Onboarding & Certification:** Own technical onboarding for new Sales Engineers to get them demo and POC ready quickly, then expand to TAMs, CSMs, and Support. Build hands-on labs and certification paths. Work with SE leadership to define and enforce demo standards. Define what "ready" means for each role and track ramp metrics.
**Knowledge & Content:** Audit, maintain, and retire the Customer Engineering technical knowledge base. Build deployment and troubleshooting guides for complex setups (Socket Firewall in enterprise networks with proxies, ZTNA, private registries). Own technical competitive material for tools SEs encounter.
**Field Engagement:** Listen to calls, attend POC reviews and escalations to identify gaps. Bring patterns back to Engineering on missing docs, confusing UX, and recurring questions. Stay close to where field teams get stuck.
**Launch Readiness:** Partner with engineers on feature launches to ensure field training precedes customer exposure. Turn each release into field-ready materials: labs, demo scripts, deployment steps, known limitations. Run regular technical sessions for Customer Engineering.
You'll leverage AI tools (Claude, etc.) to scale content creation and maintenance, supporting a growing team without proportional headcount increases. Socket is a Series C developer security platform used by Anthropic, xAI, Figma, Vercel, and thousands of orgs to safely manage open source code.
**Requirements:**
- 6+ years in technical customer-facing or technical enablement roles (Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, TAM, Support Engineer, Technical Enablement, or similar)
- Hands-on experience running demos, POCs, deployments, or escalations (not just training others)
- Ability to explain products at appropriate levels to SEs, AEs, and engineers
- Proven track record building training content others use independently (labs, demos, certifications, videos, playbooks) with measurable outcomes
- Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, Claude Code, or similar) to build and maintain content at scale
- Working knowledge of developer workflows: package managers (npm, PyPI), CI/CD, source control (Git, GitHub, GitLab)
**Preferred:**
- Background in application security, SCA, supply chain security, or developer tooling
- Experience keeping field teams current on fast release cadences (weekly or bi-weekly)
- Ability to read/write basic scripts in Python, JavaScript, or Go for lab development
- Experience with enterprise networking, proxies, ZTNA, secure web gateways, private package registries
