Anthropic is seeking a Technical Documentation and Content Engineer to own the documentation strategy and systems for Claude Docs, the unified documentation surface for Claude's product ecosystem (Claude.ai, Cowork, Claude Tag, Claude Science, and more).
This is a hybrid content + systems ownership role that goes beyond traditional technical writing. You will architect and maintain the information architecture, editorial standards, and style guide for Claude Docs as a single unified platform. You'll design and build automated documentation systems including self-healing pipelines, AI-assisted review and maintenance tools, and quality guardrails that catch issues before users encounter them.
Key responsibilities include: establishing conventions and tooling that product teams adopt to keep their documentation accurate and consistent; curating contributions from across the company by editing for clarity, pruning stale content, and shaping how new content integrates; defining and tracking content quality metrics using reader feedback and analytics; and maintaining editorial standards and workflows for documentation creation, review, and publishing.
You should have 5+ years at the intersection of documentation, user education, and software engineering. Ideal candidates bring experience with documentation platform migrations, content analytics, modern software development practices (version control, CI/CD, testing), and excellent technical writing skills. Strong candidates may also have software engineering experience (Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript), experience building automated documentation systems, or experience building AI applications with LLMs.
Anthropric is an AI safety and research company focused on building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial for users and society.
