Impulse Space seeks a Technical Business Development Manager to lead defense-focused growth initiatives across space mobility, space control, space domain awareness, and missile defense. You will develop and execute business development strategies targeting the U.S. Department of War, U.S. Space Force, Missile Defense Agency, and Space Development Agency. The role involves identifying and qualifying new opportunities, engaging early in program formulation to shape requirements through white papers and concept of operations documents, and collaborating with internal engineering teams to craft compelling solutions. You will lead capture efforts, proposal strategy, and teaming discussions while representing Impulse at industry days, technical forums, and classified engagements. A key responsibility is maintaining situational awareness of acquisition pathways including Other Transaction Authorities, Military Technical Agreements, SBIR/STTR programs, and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts. You will work closely with executive leadership to align defense pursuits with long-term strategic objectives. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience in business development, capture, program management, or technical positions in the national security space domain. You should have demonstrated experience with DoD/USSF, MDA, SDA, and relevant intelligence community customers, plus a track record of shaping and winning defense programs or advanced concept studies. Strong technical fluency in spacecraft subsystems, mission design, launch integration, or space vehicle operations is essential. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and executive stakeholders are required. The role is based in Redondo Beach with travel up to 25%. An active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain one is required.
