Mind Robotics is building Physical AI systems for industrial deployment, starting with factory automation. The company focuses on deploying generalized robotic systems capable of dexterous, adaptive, and reasoning-intensive work in real-world environments.
As Tech Lead for Software Infrastructure and Fleet Management, you will own the end-to-end systems that ship, validate, and monitor software running on field-deployed robots. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you architect and build the infrastructure yourself rather than delegating.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect fleet-wide deployment systems: over-the-air (OTA) updates, versioned rollouts, staged/canary releases, rollback strategies, and configuration management across heterogeneous robot hardware in the field
- Design and build comprehensive testing infrastructure including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test reporting, simulation-based regression testing (Isaac Sim, Gazebo, MuJoCo), and pre-deployment validation gates
- Build and evolve the fleet management platform—dashboards, APIs, and tooling to track robot inventory, software/config versions, health state, and deployment status across all units and sites
- Own CI/CD pipelines that gate deployment on integration and systems testing, managing the full path from build artifact to running processes on physical robots at remote sites
- Set technical standards and conduct deep design/code reviews across deployment, testing, and DevOps
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to build tools that increase velocity
- Design logging infrastructure and visualization tooling for edge deployments
Required experience includes strong software engineering in Python and/or Rust/C++, hands-on fleet/device management systems (OTA mechanisms, versioning, staged rollouts, remote configuration), integration and systems testing for hardware-attached software, observability engineering for edge/field deployments, containerization and edge orchestration (Docker), and a track record of scaling deployment/testing systems from ad hoc to reliable processes.
Nice-to-have qualifications include functional safety concepts for physical systems, background in electric vehicle OTA or industrial IoT, and experience scaling deployment infrastructure.
