Graphcore, a SoftBank Group company and leader in AI computing systems, is seeking a Tech Director for Post Silicon Validation to lead the validation of next-generation AI system-on-chip (SoC) designs. This role sits at the intersection of silicon, firmware, and platform engineering, requiring deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities. You will define and execute the post-silicon validation strategy for advanced AI SoCs, ensuring architectural correctness, feature robustness, and system reliability before production deployment. Key responsibilities include leading cross-domain debug efforts spanning silicon, firmware, operating systems, and platform interactions; driving collaboration between design, software, and validation teams to align on quality objectives; advancing validation automation through emulation, prototyping, and large-scale infrastructure; and providing executive leadership with clear progress updates, risk assessments, and quality metrics. The ideal candidate brings 20+ years of silicon, system, or platform validation experience with 10+ years in technical leadership roles. You should have proven success leading post-silicon validation and bring-up for complex SoCs (AI, GPU, or CPU architectures). Deep understanding of SoC architecture, coherency protocols, power management, interconnects, debug tools, DFT infrastructure, and validation automation frameworks is essential. Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Linux environments is required; experience with large-scale validation clusters is advantageous. You are a systems thinker comfortable working across hardware-software boundaries, a collaborative leader who builds trust across diverse teams, and skilled at technical problem-solving and debugging. Strong communication skills and commitment to developing people and fostering inclusive, high-performing team culture are critical. Graphcore offers competitive compensation, flexible working, generous annual leave, private medical insurance, dental plan, pension, life assurance, income protection, and generous parental leave.
