CarOnSale is an AI-powered B2B used-car trading platform operating across Europe, connecting over 40,000 buyers from 20+ countries with exclusive inventory. The company integrates software, pricing intelligence, logistics, and financing as an operating system for the automotive industry.
You will lead the vehicle assessment team for Northern Germany (Norddeutschland) based in Hamburg, managing field operations across the region. This is a hands-on leadership role where you actively participate in vehicle inspections alongside your team rather than managing from a desk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring vehicle assessors in your region, serving as their primary contact for vehicle intake, customer interactions, and process questions
- Maintaining and advancing quality standards through spot-checking reports, analyzing complaints, and implementing corrective actions
- Managing team performance via KPIs, drawing insights, and communicating results to management
- Conducting regular 1:1 conversations with team members for development and feedback
- Overseeing onboarding of new team members and transferring technical expertise
- Regularly participating in vehicle assessments on-site, representing CarOnSale professionally to dealers
Required qualifications:
- Completed technical training in automotive (e.g., master mechanic, mechatronics technician, painter, or body/vehicle builder)
- Minimum one year of team leadership experience with willingness to contribute hands-on
- Experience with vehicle assessments, appraisals, or condition inspections with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with metrics and KPIs; ability to identify patterns and communicate findings clearly
- Professional demeanor in customer interactions and entrepreneurial mindset
- Native-level German (C2)
- Class B driver's license
- AI-affinity and active use of digital tools
Preferred: Experience managing geographically distributed teams; B2-level English.
