Fudo is a high-growth restaurant management software startup operating across Latin America (Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil). The company provides SaaS solutions and mobile apps to thousands of restaurants, helping with daily operations including table management, inventory control, and financial management.
The Core Experience team is a multidisciplinary squad combining IT, Product, and UX expertise. As Team Lead Software Engineer, you will lead a squad of software engineers responsible for maintaining and developing new features for restaurant staff (servers, bartenders, managers, admins).
Key responsibilities include:
- Team management: supervise daily work, establish clear roles and responsibilities
- Professional development: provide technical mentoring on Fudo's tech stack, deliver effective feedback for career development
- Cross-functional communication: coordinate between departments, translate technical requirements between backend and frontend teams
- Project management: oversee timelines and deliverables, ensure proper integration across the stack
- Technical problem-solving: resolve complex technical obstacles across full-stack
- Quality improvement: implement best practices for feature development including CI/CD and testing
- Code review: actively participate as code reviewer, maintain quality standards in Ruby and React
- Hands-on development: directly contribute to backend and frontend development, unblock team initiatives
- Technology innovation: stay current with emerging tech trends and evaluate integration opportunities
Required qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years full-stack web development experience with proven frontend (JavaScript, React/Angular) and backend (preferably Ruby/Rails) expertise
- Strong REST API design and consumption skills (HTTP requests, authentication)
- Database expertise (modeling, relational structures)
- Frontend performance optimization knowledge (Webpack, Vite, code splitting, browser caching, HTTP/2, image compression, lazy loading)
- Proven team leadership, mentoring, or coaching experience
- Detail-oriented approach to UX/UI quality assurance
- Spanish language proficiency (implied by location and company operations)
