Clue is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to manage a cross-functional team of approximately 5 engineers building the Clue product and its supporting services. The company empowers over 10 million monthly active users to make informed decisions about their health and bodies. In this role, you will lead by serving: balancing delivery, quality, and people development while holding the team accountable to shared goals. You'll stay close enough to technical work to be a genuine sparring partner for your engineers, including senior staff engineers. Key responsibilities include: • Lead, develop, and manage a team of ~5 engineers, creating conditions for autonomy and ownership • Partner with product and design counterparts to manage scope and act as a product sparring partner • Champion an outcome-oriented, delivery-driven culture with accountability for timelines and results • Communicate with business and technical stakeholders to balance requirements and drive high-impact work • Own team and platform health metrics, identify technical debt, and drive improvements as a quality champion • Plan and execute quality and risk management activities • Stay technical by engaging in small initiatives without blocking the team • Help the team navigate uncertainty and change • Report to a Director of Engineering You bring previous experience managing engineers (ideally including staff engineers), with a hands-on background in Backend, Native Mobile, or DevOps engineering. You're delivery-driven and outcome-oriented, comfortable making pragmatic tradeoffs. You have strong cross-functional leadership experience in agile environments with excellent stakeholder management. You demonstrate high emotional and relational intelligence with strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Sentry, Firebase) and a track record of protecting platform health, stability, and performance is valued.
