Mytra is building a new class of robotics product to solve material movement and storage in supply chain—a $1T market. The company applies robotics and distributed software to address e-commerce growth, rising costs, and supply chain disruptions.
As Bot Production Lead, you'll run the production line day-to-day for Mytra's newly formed Bot Production team. This is a hands-on, working-lead role: you'll build bots alongside your team every day while setting the pace, holding the quality bar, and keeping production on schedule against real customer commitments. You'll start by ramping deep on the product itself, training shoulder-to-shoulder with Bot Prototype and Manufacturing technicians so you know these bots inside and out, then carry that expertise onto the production floor as the team stands up and scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Run the production line day-to-day, keeping builds on track to the approved plan, assigning and sequencing work, and stepping in on the floor to maintain momentum.
- Build alongside technicians, setting the standard for quality and craftsmanship at every station.
- Hold the line to released specs and SOPs, ensuring the team builds to the current, validated revision.
- Own first-line quality on the floor, catching issues early, pulling nonconforming units for rework, and keeping the line clean and flowing.
- Be the first point of contact for technicians, resolving everyday issues and knowing which ones to escalate to the manager.
- Partner with the manager and NPI to turn the build plan into a smooth daily cadence, growing into more planning over time.
- Write and close tickets (Linear), document floor issues clearly, and collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and Quality.
- Champion safety on the floor, leading by example on PPE, shop practices, and workspace organization.
- Help onboard and train Bot Production Technicians as the team grows, and help build team culture from day one.
This is a brand-new team, and this role helps build it. You'll shape how the line runs, how the team works, and how production scales as Mytra grows. You'll build deep product knowledge alongside Prototype and manufacturing engineers. Strong performers are expected to be on track toward growth in manufacturing engineering, production management, sustainment, or leading a larger production organization as the company scales.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hands-on production or manufacturing build experience, ideally with electro-mechanical hardware, robotics, or comparable technical assembly.
- Pride in repeatability and process discipline: building to SOPs, holding a quality bar, and hitting schedule in a delivery-driven environment.
- Ability to thrive in a new environment and set a solid foundation for a newly formed team; be a trailblazer.
- Technical strength to triage build issues on the floor, figure out what can be solved on the spot, and know when to raise something up.
- Ability to read and build to drawings, work instructions, and BOMs; reason about revision changes across builds.
- Solid assembly fundamentals: hand tools, fastening, cable and harness routing, and an eye for build quality.
- Natural team leadership: keep people moving, communicate clearly, and lift the people around you.
- Comfort in an industrial environment working around heavy equipment; follow shop safety practices without being asked.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience running or leading an assembly or production line as it scaled.
- Familiarity with 3D models or CAD (Onshape a plus).
- Exposure to PLM/ERP systems (Arena, NetSuite) and ticketing/collaboration tools (Linear, Notion, Slack, JIRA).
- Wire soldering, connector crimping, or schematic reading.
- Forklift and/or personnel lift certification.
- Familiarity with MES and work-instruction systems.
