Blissway is a lean, profitable startup (under 30 people) that has built a technological lead in toll collection and highway safety systems. The company operates across deep tech, AI/ML, hardware, SaaS, and IoT, with products deployed across the US Interstate Highway System.
You will own the recruiting operations engine for engineering and operations hires. This is an individual contributor role reporting to founders and engineering leadership, with direct impact on how the company finds and closes talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run day-to-day recruiting operations: pipeline management, scheduling, candidate communication, work trial logistics
- Administer and optimize the Ashby ATS instance: maintain automations, stages, scorecards, reporting; identify and flag bottlenecks
- Design and run experiments to improve work trial conversion, hiring speed, and candidate quality; track and report results
- Apply candidate screening framework to triage applicants; help refine the bar as you learn from each hire
- Serve as first impression of Blissway to candidates; manage agency partnerships; tell the company story compellingly
You'll work with a stack including Ashby (required), Rippling, Claude, Notion, Slack, and LinkedIn Recruiter. The role values problem-solving over tool familiarity, and you're encouraged to propose new tools with ROI justification.
The company emphasizes outcomes over hours, extreme ownership, clear thinking, and data-driven decision-making. You'll work in the Denver engineering office with daily team lunches and in-person collaboration.
Requirements:
- At least 6 months of hands-on Ashby experience beyond basic recruiter use (must have built interview plans, set up automations, pulled reports, troubleshot issues)
- Technical fluency: comfortable with automations, integrations, and AI tools; curious about how engineers work; able to earn engineering respect
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple searches, stakeholders, and candidates simultaneously without dropping items
- Data-driven mindset: treat hiring as a system to test and optimize; comfortable with metrics and funnel analytics
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to keep candidates, hiring managers, and partners informed
- Recruiting operations, ATS administration, funnel analytics, process design, or AI-assisted workflow experience valued
- Drive and ownership mentality; comfort with startup pace
