Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Tactical Network Engineer with cybersecurity expertise to lead the design and implementation of networking stacks enabling Command and Control (C2) and collaborative autonomy for distributed unmanned systems. This role sits within the Connected Warfare Division, which builds mission-critical systems for global command and control in multi-domain operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead integration of emerging networking capabilities and hardware/software products into the family of systems
- Decompose networking requirements across cross-functional teams, defining success amid ambiguity
- Design network laydowns and configurations from complex design reference missions involving large-scale unmanned systems and forward-deployed C2 infrastructure
- Design, implement, deploy, and troubleshoot system networking solutions across OSI layers 1-4 (Physical, Data, Network, Transport), meeting industry-standard security goals
- Own end-to-end systems, identifying and solving networking problems between seams, scrutinizing performance, making tradeoffs, and delivering outcomes
- Conduct trade-off studies of different communications and networking solutions, including government-provided technologies
- Build robust tooling for benchmarking and analyzing network traffic
- Analyze test network infrastructure and implement improvements for reliability and throughput in edge networks
- Collaborate with software engineers to build modeling/simulation environments and hardware-in-the-loop lab infrastructure
Required qualifications: 7+ years with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), enterprise network technologies, CI/CD tools, and software infrastructure fundamentals. Expertise in tactical line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) RF systems, ad-hoc mesh networking, secure communication protocols (IPSec/MACSec), software-defined networking, TCP/IP, DNS, and routing protocols. Experience with commercial mesh networking radios. Must possess and maintain an active U.S. Secret Clearance. Willing to travel up to 25% for field test events.
Preferred: network modeling/simulation tools, tactical ship-to-ship/shore communications (SatCom, VHF/UHF, LPI/LPD, anti-jamming, MIMO, antenna theory), cloud networking & cybersecurity expertise, electronic warfare (EW) technologies, and spectrum management experience.
