NODA AI is a veteran-owned, venture-backed technology company building autonomy orchestration platforms for unmanned systems in mission-critical environments. The company is scaling across products, partners, and deployment environments, with a focus on making systems work reliably in the field, not just in demos. As Systems Software Integration Engineer based in Taiwan, you will be NODA's primary technical presence on the ground, owning the integration layer between NODA's autonomy orchestration platform and the vehicle platforms, sensors, and autonomy stacks that Taiwanese partners bring to the table. You will onboard new systems, debug cross-system issues, and represent NODA technically in partner and government engagements. Key responsibilities include: - Build and maintain adapters and translation layers connecting NODA's platform to Taiwan partner vehicle platforms, sensors, and third-party autonomy stacks - Own integration testing end-to-end: from bench bring-up to HITL/SITL validation before live field deployment - Debug cross-system issues spanning application software, messaging middleware, networking, embedded Linux, and RF - Interface with partner firmware and BSP teams to isolate failures at the hardware/software boundary - Act as NODA's primary technical interface in Taiwan with OEMs, government partners, hardware vendors, and field teams - Characterize system behavior under degraded, intermittent, or contested link conditions - Translate partner and field requirements into system constraints for the U.S. engineering team; maintain Interface Control Documents - Build observability into integration components and support field exercises validating NODA's platform in live conditions You will initially report to the Head of Engineering and transition to the Solutions Engineering team as the Taiwan program matures. The long-term trajectory for the right person is leading NODA's engineering presence in Taiwan. Required: 4–8 years of professional software engineering with meaningful systems integration, middleware, drivers, or robotics software experience. Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python (production-quality code). Working knowledge of embedded Linux, OS constructs, pub-sub middleware (Zenith or comparable), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, multicast, routing), and RF/wireless concepts. Demonstrated ability to debug across layers and know when to escalate. Linux command-line debugging expertise. Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (Traditional). Must be legally authorized to work in Taiwan with independent work authorization (Taiwan Employment Gold Card or APRC); employer sponsorship unavailable. Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology and comply with U.S. export control laws, Taiwan regulations, and government security requirements. Able to travel within Taiwan for field exercises and deployments (~20% typical, increases during exercises). Preferred: Hands-on experience with vehicle control protocols and autopilot software (MAVLink, ArduPilot, PX4). Experience with autonomous systems or unmanned vehicles (UAV, UGV, USV) in integration or field context. Experience with real-time or low-latency messaging middleware (DDS, ROS/ROS2, ZeroMQ). Engagement: Full-time or contractor roles both considered.
