Hungryroot is seeking a Systems Operations Support Analyst to provide off-hours monitoring and support for its fulfillment platform and operational systems. The role serves as the primary engineering resource during scheduled shifts (Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm EST, with every-other-weekend on-call rotation after an initial training period).
Key responsibilities include monitoring production systems and fulfillment operations, responding to alerts with urgency, investigating incidents across logs, databases, APIs, and application code, and independently resolving low-to-medium complexity issues. You'll escalate high-severity incidents to senior leadership with comprehensive summaries including impact assessment and recommended next steps.
The role also involves developing and maintaining Python scripts and automation tools, supporting low-risk enhancements and bug fixes, performing routine system maintenance, and improving operational runbooks and documentation. You'll partner with engineering teams to identify recurring issues and recommend long-term reliability improvements.
Required qualifications include 2+ years in software engineering or systems support (preferably WMS/OMS experience), intermediate Python and SQL proficiency, experience with JSON APIs, production troubleshooting skills, and strong analytical and communication abilities. Experience with fulfillment, warehouse, and supply chain systems is essential.
Nice-to-have skills include Docker, monitoring/alerting platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted development tools. The first month involves 9am-5pm EST training before transitioning to the scheduled off-hours shift. Hungryroot is a remote-first, distributed company across 28+ US states with headquarters in NYC, emphasizing collaboration and flexibility.
