Octopus Energy Group is seeking a Systems Integrator to build and maintain the data and AI infrastructure supporting their fund management, asset management, and finance teams.
In this role, you will integrate third-party business systems, SaaS tools, and internal applications into a Databricks-based data platform. You'll connect systems via REST APIs, existing connectors, and authentication flows, then build reusable data products that business teams consume through Excel, dashboards, and natural-language querying rather than one-off extracts.
Key responsibilities include:
• Integrating business systems (SharePoint, Microsoft 365, third-party providers) into the Databricks environment via APIs and connectors
• Building well-modeled, documented, reusable datasets for direct business consumption
• Designing and shipping internal applications and AI-enabled tools using Python, Streamlit, Databricks Apps (HTMX), Lakebase, FastAPI, or similar technologies
• Prototyping, evaluating, and productionizing new AI capabilities (document AI, retrieval, agentic workflows) and turning proven ideas into supported products
• Setting up practical guardrails in Databricks and Unity Catalog (schema/workspace access, permissions, environment hygiene) to enable safe multi-team usage
• Implementing proactive cost management: tagging, budgets, alerting, and usage monitoring for Databricks and AI token spend attribution
• Securing AI usage with managed keys and access patterns rather than individual API keys
• Standardizing internal app development with shared templates, authentication, deployment, and documentation
• Consolidating ad-hoc scripts, spreadsheets, and no-code workflows into fewer, better-understood integrations
• Collaborating with non-technical teams to translate business problems into technical solutions
• Taking an adopt-first approach, reusing existing capability from Octopus Energy Group's data and AI teams rather than building parallel versions
Requirements:
• Strong systems integration experience: connecting business systems, SaaS tools, and data sources via REST APIs, connectors, and authentication flows
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to keep configuration version-controlled and repeatable
• FinOps experience: usage monitoring, budgets, showback, and chargeback
• Experience supporting analysts and non-specialist builders in a shared data environment
• Experience in a regulated or audited setting (financial services, infrastructure investment, or energy)
• Familiarity with renewable energy, infrastructure investment, or financial services data (preferred)
• Proficiency in Python and modern data/application frameworks
• Understanding of data governance, access control, and security best practices
