Fluidstack is building civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI at unprecedented speed and scale. The company acquires power, designs and builds data centers, and operates them with teams spanning hardware and software. The mission is to deploy frontier compute infrastructure faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack.
The Manufacturing Engineering team is responsible for taking product lines from concept to production, designing data center products at 10+ GW annual scale, and owning designs, IP, and test campaigns with full in-house design authority.
As Chief Engineer for Electrical Skids & E-Houses, you will own the end-to-end design of Fluidstack's integrated MV/LV electrical skids and UPS E-House product lines, from one-line diagrams and base frames through released-for-production drawing packages. You will drive both products into production, managing design, compliance, and factory readiness. You will lead a dedicated team covering electrical, structural, HVAC, and fire protection engineers, supported by assigned drafting and compliance staff from shared engineering services. You will work with localization teams to define design upgrades and particularities including interconnect points, protection interfaces, transport and rigging limits, and seismic anchorage. You will also coordinate with third-party authorized vendors to deliver consistent products across Fluidstack's data center fleet.
The role operates within a culture emphasizing full autonomy ("be a barrel"), insane urgency, first-principles reasoning, and ownership of civilization-scale problems. Long hours and high intensity are expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated experience taking packaged electrical equipment (skids, E-Houses, PDCs, or integrated power assemblies) from concept through production release as the single accountable engineer
- Ownership of designs spanning electrical, structural, and mechanical disciplines with ability to make cross-discipline tradeoffs independently rather than arbitrating between silos
- Design experience to UL 891 or UL 1558 assembly requirements and NFPA fire protection standards on equipment requiring AHJ acceptance
- Factory floor experience making ship-or-hold decisions on units based on witnessed test results
- Leadership of design teams of ten or more through compressed release schedules while maintaining quality gates
- Ability to write specifications and drawing packages precise enough for manufacturers to build correctly on first pass
