Salary: USD 153,615 - 199,400 / annual

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer V to serve as a senior technical leader responsible for defining, integrating, and validating complex defense and space systems. This role reports to the Systems Engineering Manager within the Strategic Systems Engineering Department and is based in Folsom, CA, with flexibility for Reno, NV or remote work within the US. As a Staff-level systems engineer, you will act as both a technical authority ensuring program-level systems engineering rigor and compliance with contractual and mission requirements, and as a mentor to junior systems engineers. Key responsibilities include: - Oversee system, subsystem, and interface requirements definition and maintenance with full traceability, verification, and compliance with MDA standards - Lead development and validation of system architecture, including creation and execution of system-level verification and validation plans, functional allocations, and interface definitions - Interface extensively with propulsion, software, hardware, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), and test teams to ensure coherent system-level performance - Manage system-level risk identification and mitigation strategies - Coordinate technical baseline management, change control, and participation in formal reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) - Provide authoritative Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) leadership, guiding SysML modeling standards and digital engineering toolchain alignment - Serve as primary technical liaison with customer and supplier organizations on requirements flowdown and technical issue resolution - Mentor junior and mid-level systems engineers, fostering knowledge transfer and process maturity Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related STEM field with 10+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). You must have deep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development, and systems engineering lifecycle standards; expert-level proficiency in requirements management tools (DOORS); deep knowledge of INCOSE SE Handbook and MIL-STD-499; and significant experience with MBSE principles using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Project is required. Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of DoDAF architecture frameworks and digital engineering environments, plus experience in reliability and system safety analyses. Travel up to 10-15% is required, including possible overnights for customer reviews and test events. You must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and comply with ITAR regulations.
