Voyager Space is seeking a Systems Engineer V to serve as a senior technical authority leading complex modeling, simulation, and control systems efforts across propulsion and aerospace programs. This role focuses on developing high-fidelity system models and control algorithms for propulsion, guidance, and flight control systems, with deep expertise in solid rocket motor performance and controllable solids technologies.
Key responsibilities include: leading development of advanced system models and control algorithms; designing simulation architectures for aerospace control system verification and validation; performing detailed controllability studies of dynamic systems; architecting control system topologies and defining gain tuning methodologies; serving as primary performance engineer for assigned programs including requirements derivation and margin management; conducting system-level analysis including Monte Carlo and sensitivity studies; applying physics-based modeling to represent real-world system behavior; leading ballistics modeling and performance analysis of solid rocket motor systems; modeling and performance assessment of actuation systems for propulsion control and dynamic mechanisms; aiding customers in developing mission CONOPS and requirements through propulsion system modeling; creating and validating advanced estimation techniques; and extending company capabilities in advanced control schemes including state-space methods.
This individual will mentor junior engineers, ensure modeling rigor in support of programmatic and customer objectives, and serve as a technical authority across propulsion and aerospace initiatives. The role requires deep domain expertise and the ability to lead complex technical efforts while maintaining high standards for system performance and reliability.
