Salary: USD 240,000 - 299,000 / annual

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America by combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. The company recently raised $1.37B in Series D funding at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding manufacturing capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, and additive manufacturing. You will lead the Systems Test division within the Autonomous Factory Systems team, which builds the software enabling Hadrian's factories to sense, decide, and act autonomously. This includes the core robotics stack (perception, behaviors, planning, collision avoidance, control), orchestration between robots and manufacturing machines, and the hardware abstraction layer connecting software to factory floor equipment. Key responsibilities include building and leading a team of test and simulation test engineers; establishing technical standards, tools, and processes; driving full test plan coverage across all Autonomous Factory Systems programs from early development through production release; directing simulation test development to model edge cases and off-nominal conditions; setting technical direction across hardware and integrated manufacturing cells; and defining quality gates for system readiness. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on test architecture, simulation methodology, and engineering standards rather than pure people management. You will partner cross-functionally with hardware, robotics, and software integration teams to embed testability into system design from inception. Required qualifications include a B.S. in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline; 10+ years of systems or test engineering experience for complex electromechanical or robotic systems with a track record of technical leadership; experience building and scaling test strategies for integrated hardware-software systems; experience directing simulation test environments; and familiarity with robotics, industrial automation, or manufacturing cell environments. Formal systems engineering training (INCOSE CSEP or equivalent) is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate comfort operating across the full stack from hardware sub-component testing to system-level simulation of autonomous behavior, with excellent communication skills translating findings into actionable input for leadership.
