Anduril Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Tactical Recon & Strike division, working on advanced aerial drone systems (Group 1-3) including products like Altius, Anvil, Bolt, and Ghost. This role is central to transforming military capabilities through cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion technology.
You will drive systems thinking and engineering processes for core Anduril products, partnering with product leads and functional engineering teams to scope, staff, and deliver capabilities that meet company milestones. Key responsibilities include architecting system designs for safety, reliability, usability, modularity, and maintainability; defining system and subsystem requirements with verification and validation strategies; executing System Hazard Analyses (SHAs) and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to ensure safety and reliability; and coordinating test events from lab simulations to flight tests.
You will interpret and apply defense standards (STANAG, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-1901A, JOTPs) and act as a trusted technical partner across the organization. The role demands autonomously leading complex technical initiatives, identifying and resolving cross-team dependencies, and ensuring requirements align with capability roadmaps for rapid iteration.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field. 5+ years in defense or safety-critical industries with expertise in safety-critical development standards, reliability and safety fault/hazard analysis, and requirements-driven verification and validation. Proficiency in systems thinking, Python, and modern software development practices. Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes) and test automation. Must be comfortable with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and willing to travel up to 25% for field test events. Eligible to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. security clearance.
