Voyager Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer IV – Test to lead integration and testing activities for rocket motor systems. This role oversees complex test campaigns involving multiple subsystems and high-risk operations, serving as a primary technical interface to customers with responsibility for status updates, risk assessments, and test result communication. The Systems Engineer IV – Test mentors and leads junior engineers while applying systems engineering principles to ensure test activities align with program requirements and overall system performance. The position reports to the Systems Engineering Manager within the Strategic Systems Department and can be based in either Reno, NV or Folsom, CA. Key responsibilities include leading integration and test activities for rocket motor systems from preparation through post-test analysis; developing, maintaining, and standardizing test plans, procedures, and data collection strategies; overseeing test software and hardware development for SWIL and HWIL testing; mentoring less experienced engineers; communicating test results and status to management, customers, and cross-functional teams; ensuring compliance with safety protocols and engineering standards; driving continuous improvement in test processes and methodologies; leading Test Readiness Reviews and technical reviews; troubleshooting complex issues; and applying controls and systems engineering principles to test systems and instrumentation. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field. Candidates must have 7–10 years of hands-on experience in test engineering within propulsion systems, aerospace, or related industries, with specific experience in rocket motor integration and testing. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential, along with a proven track record in high-pressure test environments. Technical expertise required includes advanced programming proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, Python, and Simulink; strong knowledge of serial communication protocols (RS-422, RS-485, CAN); extensive experience with MIL-STD and aerospace qualification/acceptance test practices; strong background in DAQ systems, instrumentation, and controls engineering; experience with test software development, automation, and high-fidelity simulation tools; and intimate knowledge of instrumentation, calibration standards, and troubleshooting methodologies.
