Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security, and space technology company developing mission-critical solutions for propulsion and aerospace systems. This Systems Engineer IV role focuses on modeling, simulation, and controls engineering for advanced propulsion systems, including solid rocket motors and controllable solids technologies. Key responsibilities include developing high-fidelity models and control algorithms for propulsion, flight control, and guidance subsystems. You will design system simulation architectures to enable design iteration, verification, and validation across multiple engineering disciplines. The role involves performing controllability studies to assess system behavior under perturbations, defining control system topologies, and supporting gain tuning methodology across various architectures. You will conduct system-level performance assessments using Monte Carlo, sensitivity, and parametric studies. Physics-based modeling is central to this work—developing representative simulations of mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamic systems. Ballistics modeling and propulsion system performance analysis for solid rocket motors are key technical areas. Additional responsibilities include developing and validating models of actuation systems for propulsion control and dynamic mechanisms, supporting integration into closed-loop control architectures. You will aid customers in developing mission concepts of operations (CONOPS) and requirements through propulsion system modeling and controls design. The role also involves developing and implementing estimation techniques to improve model accuracy and system insight, extending modeling capability in state-space and modern control methods, and supporting simulation validation and integration efforts. This position requires increasing independence and technical ownership, working closely with other engineering disciplines, project teams, and customers. The engineer applies domain expertise in solid rocket motors and controllable solids technologies to model system behavior and contribute to design maturity and program success.
