Voyager Space is seeking a Systems Engineer III to provide engineering leadership and technical coordination for defense and aerospace programs. This role operates with moderate supervision, demonstrating increased independence in managing day-to-day engineering tasks and cross-functional integration.
Key responsibilities include supporting technical planning and execution of defense and aerospace engineering projects; assisting in development and maintenance of integrated master schedules, milestone plans, and work packages in coordination with program and engineering teams; participating in cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs); coordinating basic engineering inputs across disciplines (mechanical, electrical, systems, software); assisting with identification and tracking of program risks and opportunities; contributing to engineering project plans and integration activities; helping develop and maintain statements of work (SOWs) and supporting subcontract management; assisting in trade studies, hardware procurement planning, and make/buy analyses; supporting preparation for and participation in design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and customer meetings; drafting and reviewing engineering documentation including test plans, ECNs, and interface documentation; and ensuring adherence to program deliverables, CDRLs, and contract requirements under guidance.
The engineer acts as a key technical liaison between disciplines, program management, suppliers, and stakeholders to help ensure technical objectives, schedules, and deliverables are achieved in accordance with program goals. This is a role for someone who thrives in complex, mission-critical environments where technical rigor and cross-functional collaboration are essential.
