SPHERE Technology Solutions is hiring a Systems Engineer for Identity & Access Management (IAM) to deploy, integrate, support, and improve identity-focused infrastructure and SPHEREboard solutions. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining systems administration fundamentals with identity, data, automation, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and administer identity infrastructure including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, LDAP, authentication services, service accounts, certificates, DNS, and Windows/Linux components
- Deploy and support SPHEREboard by installing and configuring application, database, and scan-server components; enabling connectors; validating services and access; and establishing schedules
- Integrate enterprise data sources by connecting directories, servers, databases, PAM platforms, HR sources, and other systems using native connectors, SQL, PowerShell, REST APIs, and structured data formats
- Automate repeatable work by building and maintaining PowerShell-based automation for data collection, transformation, validation, monitoring, and operational support
- Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across identity, operating systems, networks, permissions, certificates, application services, databases, connectors, and source data
- Build trusted customer relationships by understanding business needs, translating technical concepts clearly, and delivering timely resolution
- Operationalize deployments by creating runbooks, configuration records, test evidence, support procedures, and training materials
- Apply secure engineering practices using least privilege, controlled change, secure credential handling, logging, and validation
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Support, and Services to identify defects, close documentation gaps, and improve deployment patterns
Required Experience:
- 3–5+ years hands-on experience in systems administration, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, IAM engineering, or related role
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory administration and troubleshooting; working knowledge of Linux/Unix
- Practical understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, ports, proxies, certificates, service accounts, permissions, scheduled services, and remote connectivity
- PowerShell proficiency for administration and automation
- Working SQL skills including joins, filtering, data validation, and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting production applications or infrastructure and diagnosing multi-system issues
- Familiarity with identity and authentication concepts (directory services, group membership, role-based access, SSO, MFA, SAML, OAuth/OIDC, Kerberos)
- Demonstrated customer-facing experience with strong communication and professional presence
- Security-minded approach to privileged access, credentials, change control, and operational reliability
Preferred Experience:
- Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, Group Policy, federation, or enterprise SSO administration
- Microsoft SQL Server administration and advanced SQL development
- IAM, IGA, or PAM platforms (SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, or comparable)
- Cloud platforms and identity services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
- REST APIs, JSON, XML, Python, Bash, Git, or infrastructure-as-code practices
- Enterprise software deployment or technical solutions delivery in customer environments
- Relevant Microsoft, Linux, cloud, security, or identity certifications
