Cloudflare is seeking a Systems Engineer to help build and maintain Data Security products. In this role, you will focus on building new functionality into APIs and distributed systems while ensuring the performance and reliability of services that ingest millions of data points daily. You'll work on products that empower customers to gain deep visibility into Cloud/SaaS security opportunities and network traffic trends.
You'll be part of a team of engineers solving security and network visibility challenges for customers ranging from SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. The role involves full-stack development across backend and frontend systems.
Tech Stack:
- Backend: Go, Python, Typescript
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Cloudflare Workers, AWS, GCP, Azure
- Data: Postgres (primary data store), Redis (cache), Kafka (message broker)
- Frontend: Typescript and React
- Monitoring: Prometheus and Grafana
- Logging: Elasticsearch and Kibana
- Analytics: Clickhouse and BigQuery

Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience building and managing reliable, performant software systems at scale
- Preferred experience with Go, Python, and/or Postgres
- Passion for making the digital world more secure
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills
- Willingness and curiosity to learn new programming languages, technologies, and systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Bonus:
- Frontend programming experience in Typescript/Javascript
- Experience with third-party API integrations
- Previous work on security products
