Cloudflare is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Production Platform Organization's SLO (Service Level Objective) team. You'll work on building and maintaining tooling and internal platforms that enable engineering teams across the company to measure service and feature reliability at massive scale—supporting 46+ million HTTP requests per second across a global network reaching 95% of the internet-connected population.
In this role, you'll develop distributed systems that help other engineers understand system behavior and verify interactions between products in production. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, product managers, and Site Reliability Engineers to deliver monitoring and reliability solutions for enterprise customers.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing secure, highly-available distributed systems; developing and executing test and SLO plans; creating and maintaining production testing infrastructure and availability reporting; and driving improvements in software development testing processes. You'll need strong communication skills to gather requirements from teams across the company and provide clear feedback on system reliability.
Required experience includes a proven track record as a software engineer with proficiency in Go, Rust, or Python. You should have hands-on experience designing and maintaining distributed systems, developing test plans and SLO strategies, and measuring uptime metrics like correctness, availability, and latency.
Bonus qualifications include experience with synthetic traffic and load testing tools, familiarity with ClickHouse, Prometheus, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL, and background working with data pipelines focused on reliability and scale.
