Graphcore is building the future of AI compute as part of the SoftBank Group. The company develops custom semiconductor and software solutions, including the IPU (Intelligence Processing Unit), to power next-generation AI infrastructure at datacenter scale.
As a System Software Engineer on the Drivers and Utilities team, you will contribute to the planning, design, implementation, and testing of low-level kernel drivers and user-space driver library code. You'll be part of the system software department (alongside the firmware team) and report to the drivers and utilities team manager.
The Drivers and Utilities team forms part of the broader system software group, working closely with software engineers developing the Poplar SDK and with silicon/hardware engineers building Graphcore's IPU solution. The team develops custom control software on the host in both kernel and user space, enabling customers to achieve maximum performance and utility from Graphcore's cutting-edge products.
You will collaborate across multiple technical domains—from low-level hardware interfaces to high-level software abstractions—to deliver robust, performant driver solutions that integrate seamlessly with the broader AI compute stack. This role offers exposure to the complete AI infrastructure pipeline and the opportunity to impact how enterprises deploy next-generation AI workloads.
