NY Fire Detection, Inc. is hiring a System Sales Executive to drive sales of fire detection and life safety systems in the NYC metropolitan area, including Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties.
In this role, you will develop and manage a pipeline of construction projects across all trades (excluding distribution), positioning NY Fire as a consultative partner rather than a transactional vendor. You will read architectural and engineering drawings fluently, understand system requirements and code implications, and prepare accurate proposals that reflect project scope and integration details.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple concurrent bids and proposals with careful attention to deadlines and accuracy
- Collaborating closely with Estimating, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution from proposal through installation
- Conducting proactive follow-up on all opportunities until a decision is reached
- Reviewing all documentation before award to ensure no missing inclusions or exclusions
- Staying current on fire codes, manufacturers, and design practices to enhance proposal quality and customer confidence
- Representing NY Fire's reputation through professionalism, responsiveness, and reliability
You will own proposal accuracy and customer satisfaction, with no excuses or deflection. Success requires strong communication skills, organizational discipline, and the ability to work cohesively across internal teams without creating silos.
Requirements:
- Fluent reading of architectural drawings and specifications
- Understanding of fire detection system requirements, code implications, and integration details
- Preferred background in construction sales (all trades except distribution)
- Ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and relationships simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to proposal accuracy
- Professional communication and reliability
- Willingness to stay current on codes, manufacturers, and design practices
