Shield AI is a venture-backed defense-tech company developing intelligent autonomy systems, aircraft platforms (V-BAT, X-BAT), and simulation technologies to protect service members and civilians. The company operates globally with offices across the US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. As an SVS Tester, you will execute comprehensive software quality assurance and testing activities across the full software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities include: • Develop and execute test cases, perform regression testing, and implement automated tests to verify product performance goals and ensure project requirements are met • Document all testing activities and maintain approval matrices for software releases • Prepare test environments including hardware setup, device flashing, software installation, and integration testing • Conduct operational testing on flights in and around Melbourne • Collaborate with Software Engineers and QA Engineers to improve software design, testing processes, and overall quality • Meet agreed schedules and communicate any delays or risks immediately to the Director of Engineering • Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to automation frameworks This role involves hands-on testing of real-time embedded systems and autonomous software, with exposure to hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing methodologies. REQUIREMENTS: • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent overseas qualification such as NZCE) • Cross-platform testing experience on Windows and Linux • Proficiency in setting up and managing test environments and operating systems • Ability to analyze and solve complex software engineering problems independently or as part of a team • Experience working in Agile software development environments • Strong knowledge of fault tracking systems • Reliable and able to meet project schedules and deadlines PREFERRED: • ISTQB accreditation • Experience with automated testing tools • Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test experience • Experience testing and validating real-time embedded software systems
