Toptal, a global network of top talent in business, design, and technology with $200+ million in annual revenue, is seeking an SVP of Product to shape the company's product vision and drive execution across its entire portfolio. This is the most senior product role in the company, reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the executive team. You will own Toptal's AI product strategy, deciding where agents and models belong across the marketplace, talent and client experiences, internal systems, and products taken to market. You will establish measurable AI quality through evals and acceptance bars, and rebuild how Product operates using AI to amplify every product manager's output and judgment. You will own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for the entire portfolio—what to build, what to sunset, and how investment is distributed across growth, platform, and operational leverage. You will establish the product operating model and metrics to ensure decisions are made on evidence and user research rather than opinion. This is a hands-on role. You will write your own specs, pull your own data, and build rough versions of agent-driven solutions to validate them before budgeting. You will sit in product reviews and speak candidly. You will own hiring and workforce planning for the product team, setting the bar and bringing in talent to advance Toptal to the next level. You will work collaboratively with Engineering, Design, Finance, Marketing, New Businesses, Professional Services, and Customer leaders. Your remit spans the core platform, talent and client experiences, internal systems, products taken to market, and the data and AI platform underneath them. In your first week, you will get up to speed on how the organization runs and begin building relationships with the CEO, executive team, and direct reports. In your first month, you will assess the current state of the Product organization and its AI maturity, bring the executive team an unprompted product strategy, and establish a shared view of company priorities. In your first three months, you will own the product portfolio and roadmap with at least one AI-enabled capability in production and measured. In your first six months, you will show business impact from AI-enabled products in at least two core surfaces and have the right leadership team in place. In your first year, you will run a product organization recognized as one of the most advanced in the industry, with AI leverage embedded across the portfolio and operating model. QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems); Master's strongly preferred. - At least 15 years of proven software Product Management experience. - At least 8 years of experience leading Product organizations, including experience leading other product leaders (managing managers). - Proven ability to raise the level of a product organization through hiring and developing people. - Proven ownership of resourcing and workforce planning with a quantifiable hiring track record; demonstrated ability to make hard calls when someone is not clearing the bar. - Experience owning an entire product portfolio at a high-growth technology company with accountability for business outcomes, not solely delivery. - Demonstrated success setting product strategy at the executive level and translating it into an executable roadmap across multiple teams and domains. - Experience leading AI-enabled products with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes. - Deep, hands-on command of modern AI as a product discipline: agentic architectures, harness and orchestration design, retrieval, context engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation, along with the economics of running models in production. You must have shipped these yourself. - Further ahead on AI than the executives around you, able to teach it, and proven at moving an organization to adopt something it was not asking for. - Growth marketing fluency; understanding of acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention. - Experience with marketplace, platform, or two-sided business models is a strong plus. - Prior experience working as a Software Engineer is a strong plus. - Comfortable working with SQL or spreadsheets to analyze data and conducting research with internal and external users. - Ability to creatively craft solutions through data and a user-centric approach. - Meticulous with a high bar for quality when writing user stories, brainstorming technical approaches, and testing features before release. - Humble, willing to learn, and willing to do whatever is needed to accomplish goals. - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. - Experience using agile development methodologies with globally distributed teams. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and diverse contacts. - Must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at Toptal.
