Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced technology, is seeking a Support System Lead to join the Maneuver Dominance team at their Costa Mesa headquarters. This role leads critical capability development for an advanced airborne platform, focusing on wholistic support systems thinking to shape air vehicle development and novel approaches to operations and sustainment.
You will architect, plan, and lead the design and development of comprehensive support systems covering deployment, supply, operations, and maintenance. Key responsibilities include hiring and developing a focused engineering team, collaborating with customer stakeholders on concepts of employment, and conducting 'Day In The Life Of' decomposition activities to influence functional design of the air vehicle and mission systems. You will design, fabricate, and test transport and handling equipment enabling rapid deployment in challenging operational environments, identify appropriate standards for supply systems, and leverage emerging technologies to develop maintenance systems and training approaches.
The role requires collaboration across the division to drive consistent support system approaches across the product ecosystem, enhancing customer experience and familiarity. You will work in a lean, high-ownership culture where you directly shape the product and operate at velocity to fly new designs within months, not years.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or related technical discipline; 10+ years in aerospace, defense, or product development/design environments including technology maturation; familiarity with systems engineering; and hands-on experience in operational environments performing logistics, maintenance, or training roles. Defense industry or military service background (particularly rotary-wing) is highly desirable. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia.
