Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 / annual
Halo Industries, founded in 2014 at Stanford University and recently funded in 2024, has developed breakthrough laser-based technology to revolutionize semiconductor material slicing. The company is now scaling volume manufacturing and seeking a strategic Supply Chain Program Manager to lead sourcing and supplier management for both specialized raw materials (wafers) and critical electromechanical components for proprietary manufacturing equipment.
In this role, you will own end-to-end supply chain strategy across assigned commodity categories. Key responsibilities include developing multi-year sourcing strategies for raw materials and capital equipment sub-components, conducting continuous market intelligence on global conditions and geopolitical factors affecting semiconductor supply chains, and identifying and qualifying primary and secondary suppliers to eliminate single points of failure.
You will lead complex contract negotiations for Master Supply Agreements and pricing contracts, conduct quarterly business reviews with key suppliers against Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Innovation metrics, and work closely with suppliers on capacity planning aligned to long-term production forecasts. Cross-functional collaboration is central: you will partner with R&D and NPI teams during design phases to ensure manufacturability and supply chain viability, collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on value analysis/value engineering to reduce bill of materials costs, and serve as the escalation point for critical supply shortages, leading task forces to resolve bottlenecks and prevent production downtime.
You will participate in daily coordination with Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, NPI, and Finance teams to align commodity strategies with business objectives and production schedules, and contribute to corporate continuous improvement initiatives.
The role is based onsite in Santa Clara, CA, with up to 10% domestic and international travel.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Materials Science, or Electrical), Business, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain within semiconductor, capital equipment, or advanced materials industries
- Proficiency reading engineering drawings and understanding complex technical specifications for raw materials (purity levels, material properties) and equipment components (tolerances, vacuum standards)
- Experience performing complex cost modeling, Should-Cost analysis, and Total Cost of Ownership evaluations
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and PLM software (e.g., Arena)
- Direct experience in semiconductor or related high-tech industries
- Direct experience supporting New Product Introductions (NPI), including supplier selection and qualification for engineering prototypes
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Advanced negotiation skills with history of executing favorable long-term contracts in volatile markets
- Experience developing and executing successful long-term global commodity sourcing strategies for specialized materials or capital equipment components
- Familiarity with global supply chain management complexity, geopolitical factors, and risk mitigation planning
- Experience with compliance-driven procurement for automotive or IATF 16949
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
