Isar Aerospace is seeking a Supply Chain Leader to own the end-to-end supply chain for a new aerospace development programme. This is a strategic leadership role that consolidates Planning, Purchasing, and Fast Make Manufacturing under a single leader, creating a responsive supply chain capable of supporting rapid engineering development and transition into production.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing supply-chain strategy aligned to programme milestones; leading Planning, Purchasing, and Fast Make Manufacturing functions; establishing scalable processes and systems; and providing clear performance, risk, and recovery reporting to the Director of Value Stream.
In Planning & Material Control, you will own material and capacity planning, ensure critical and long-lead components are secured early, drive build readiness, and ensure engineering changes are rapidly reflected in supply plans.
For Purchasing & Suppliers, you will develop sourcing strategies, build a capable supplier base, lead supplier selection and commercial negotiations, manage supplier performance across Quality, Cost, and Delivery, and identify and mitigate supply risks.
The Fast Make Manufacturing component requires leading the prototyping capability supporting rapid engineering iteration, establishing appropriate make/buy strategies, reducing prototype lead times while maintaining quality, and developing processes to transition prototypes into production.
You will embed Supply Chain into the engineering development process from the earliest stages, providing input on manufacturability, sourcing, cost, capacity, and lead time. You will establish critical component and supplier risk management processes, manage development procurement spend, establish KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
Key deliverables include an integrated Planning, Purchasing, and Fast Make organisation; development supply-chain strategy and operating model; critical supplier and component strategy; build-readiness and material planning process; Fast Make operating model; supply-chain risk register; supplier performance management process; KPI dashboard; and effective transition from development into production.
Required qualifications include significant leadership experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, or Procurement; experience supporting complex engineering or new product development programmes; strong understanding of Planning, Procurement, and Manufacturing; experience with prototype, low-volume, or fast-turn manufacturing; proven supplier management and commercial capability; experience building high-performing supply-chain teams; and ability to operate effectively across Engineering, Operations, and Programme Management.
