Radiant is building the world's first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The Kaleidos reactor is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe unit designed for rapid deployment to hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases, capable of running up to 5 years without refueling. Founded in 2020, Radiant is preparing for its first reactor test at Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with customer deliveries beginning in 2028.
As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will own the development, qualification, and long-term reliability of Radiant's supply base. This is a builder role: you'll establish processes, standards, and supplier capabilities from the ground up rather than maintaining inherited systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the end-to-end supplier qualification and onboarding process: pre-assessments, capability reviews, audit execution, and Approved Supplier List approval.
- Develop and refine quality program documentation, including quality clauses, commodity-specific requirements, and the Supplier Quality Manual.
- Create supplier capability improvement plans by identifying process gaps, partnering with suppliers to close them, and tracking progress against milestones.
- Define Radiant's procurement assurance and acceptance framework, establishing purchase order quality requirements, certifications, material traceability, and compliance documentation.
- Execute supplier audits and manage supplier performance, authoring findings to closure and driving structured improvement plans.
- Partner cross-functionally with design engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams to translate technical requirements into supplier-facing quality requirements.
- Process and disposition supplier quality issues: deviation requests, non-conformance reports, corrective action requests, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective action effectiveness.
You will take full ownership of your domain, identify what needs to be built or improved, write procedures when they don't exist, and drive initiatives without waiting to be asked. You solve problems from first principles and hold both suppliers and yourself to high standards in a safety-critical, auditable environment.
