True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space environment for the U.S. and its allies. As a Supplier Development Engineer reporting to the Manager of Supplier Development, you will play a vital role in building and sustaining a world-class supplier base capable of delivering flight-quality hardware to orbit.
You will support the identification, qualification, and continuous improvement of suppliers across key technical domains—Electronics, PCBA, Cable Harnesses, Box Build Assemblies, and Power Systems—ensuring they meet True Anomaly's rigorous standards for quality, cost, and schedule. This role bridges engineering and supply chain, requiring someone who can work effectively with both internal engineering teams and external suppliers while driving lean principles and scalable, resilient processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the supplier development lifecycle: qualification, performance management, and continuous improvement
- Execute supplier qualification processes including technical audits, capability assessments, risk assessments, and first article inspections (FAI) with focus on IPC standards compliance and MIL-STD testing requirements
- Develop and implement supplier quality programs including scorecards (tracking FPY, RTV, OTD, parametric test yields), quality clauses, and flow-down requirements for purchase orders
- Conduct process, system, and product audits at supplier sites to verify AS9100, IPC-A-610/J-STD compliance and other aerospace/defense standards
- Identify and qualify new suppliers, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support cost reduction and supply chain resilience efforts
You should be technically minded, comfortable with aerospace/defense quality standards, and passionate about building scalable supplier networks from the ground up.
