Impulse is developing advanced spacecraft and kick stages to enable deep-space missions. As Structures Manager for the Helios Kick Stage Vehicle, you will lead a team of senior engineers responsible for all aspects of vehicle development—from design through test, sustainment, and continuous improvement. You will own the complete engineering lifecycle for pressurized weldment structures, integrated subsystems, payload accommodations, and separation systems on a next-generation kick stage. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic direction with direct technical contribution. You'll architect engineering processes to streamline development and production ramp, drive component test campaigns, and work across disciplines in a vertically integrated, hardware-rich environment. Key responsibilities include leading the structures team, engaging with customers (NASA, government, commercial partners) on mission requirements, determining product roadmap and upgrades, implementing robust engineering and test processes, and collaborating with manufacturing and operations to deliver reliable, high-performance vehicles. You'll work alongside industry veterans in a fast-paced startup environment focused on enabling lunar, Mars, and high-energy orbit missions. The role offers genuine ownership of a critical vehicle subsystem and the opportunity to shape the future of space transportation.
