Anduril Industries is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to join their Costa Mesa, California office. You will be part of the Structural Analysis team, which ensures product integrity and performance across the company's defense technology portfolio. The team provides cross-product support for emerging innovations, establishes benchmarks for analysis excellence, and delivers specialized expertise to programs with complex structural challenges. In this role, you will perform static and dynamic structural analyses across sea, ground, air, and space domains using first principles and appropriate analysis methods, ranging from hand calculations and spreadsheets to detailed finite element analysis (FEA). You will develop and own finite element model (FEM) creation and organization at both global and subsystem levels, collaborating closely with hardware engineers to drive proper designs based on analytical results. Key responsibilities include conducting and supporting validation testing—including instrumentation setup, data collection, and model correlation—and documenting analysis methodology and results in technical reports for internal teams and external stakeholders. You will ensure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations, and stay current with advancements in analysis techniques, materials technology, and industry standards. Required qualifications include a BS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics with a focus in structures, deep understanding of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, and materials properties, and structural testing experience (static, buckling, cyclic) including sensor selection, data acquisition, and post-processing. You must be proficient in FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN) for linear and non-linear static and buckling analyses, experienced with CAD tools (NX, Solidworks), and proficient in Matlab or Python for developing analytical models, data acquisition, and automation. You should be highly motivated, self-starting, able to perform duties autonomously, very organized, and willing to establish scope and requirements for ill-defined problems. Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of experience in a structures, dynamics, or loads-related role with high ownership and accountability for hardware outcomes, an MS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics with a focus in structures, experience with rotorcraft and/or turbomachinery, ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance, and ability to develop workflow automation tools.
