Salary: USD 130,000 - 165,000 / annual
Via is transforming transportation globally through technology-enabled intermodal transit services. As Strategy & Operations Principal, you will lead the on-site daily operations of Via's service, managing a first-of-its-kind transit operation while building processes and systems in real time.
You will serve as the operational point of contact for drivers, dispatchers, and external partners, managing real-time scheduling and problem-solving for a round-the-clock team. Your responsibilities include managing and mentoring on-site dispatchers and shift managers, developing relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, and local organizations, and liaising closely with Via senior management.
You will establish clear operational metrics and KPIs, prepare weekly reports analyzing data to improve processes, ensure resource allocation efficiency, and maximize customer satisfaction. Compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies is essential. You will lead, coach, and develop an engaged team of drivers, fostering a collaborative and energetic environment committed to world-class customer service.
This is an entrepreneurial role spanning operations management, business development, and people leadership. You will be building the operation while executing it—a challenging, high-responsibility position requiring independence, adaptability, and creative problem-solving.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 6+ years of operations management experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proven track record managing and developing teams
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments
- Strong communicator with ability to adapt tone and approach to different stakeholders
- Detail-oriented executor with autonomous work capability
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, delegate, and prioritize
