Trunk Tools is a Series B AI company (raised $40M led by Insight Partners, $70M total) revolutionizing construction through intelligent automation. The company has 100+ employees (50+ engineers), serves 140,000+ field professionals, and is entering hypergrowth after doubling headcount in the past year. You will be a Strategy & Operations Manager—a force multiplier across the entire business sitting at the intersection of operations, strategy, and all business functions. This is a builder role with outsized ownership, functioning as a hybrid of internal PM and chief-of-staff. You'll automate manual, repeatable work using frontier AI, bring sharp business judgment to critical problems, and connect dots across functions. Key responsibilities: - Own AI-powered automation across the business: identify repeatable, painful work in finance, ops, marketing, and GTM, then turn it into automated systems with measurement and iteration. - Drive cross-functional strategy and analysis end-to-end: frame problems, pull data, build answers, and drive decisions across finance, marketing, and GTM. - Build AI orchestration and enablement: be the in-house expert on applying frontier AI to real operating problems. Build lightweight agents and automations, and raise the team's AI capability. - Act as connective tissue: translate messy, manual processes into repeatable systems and keep the org running faster than its size suggests. First 90 days: stand up an end-to-end automated workflow on demand-gen (signal → enrichment → scoring → routing → attribution); map and ship automation quick wins across finance, people, marketing, and GTM; layer in an AI-orchestration step; own one cross-functional strategic project end-to-end; publish a prioritized roadmap of automation and operating improvements. You should be extremely fluent with AI—models, tools, MCPs, automations—but don't need to be a software engineer. The ideal candidate pairs AI fluency with genuine business sense across strategy, finance, RevOps, marketing, GTM, and operations. QUALIFICATIONS (MUST-HAVE): - 4+ years in a hyper-growth startup, vertical SaaS, or AI-first environment, thriving amid ambiguity, rapid change, and high execution bar - AI-fluent with frontier tools: use latest models, tools, API calls, and MCPs daily; know how to turn them into working agentic automations - Strong, broad business sense: can dive into finance, people, marketing, or GTM problems, reason about tradeoffs, and identify what moves the needle - Exceptional communication: frame problems clearly, explain thinking crisply, translate between technical and commercial audiences - Builder's instinct for workflow automation and process: move from messy business problem to working system fast, without waiting for a playbook - Product mindset: prioritize, scope, and ship the right thing for internal customers across the company - Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous, execution-focused environment with end-to-end ownership NICE-TO-HAVE: - Strategy, ops, consulting, BizOps, or RevOps background - Hands-on experience with AI automation tools (Clay, Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, etc.) - Comfort with finance and analytical modeling - Construction, AEC, or vertical-SaaS industry familiarity
