MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is a leading provider of standard, configurable, and custom manufacturing solutions. They integrate a vast catalog of components with a digital manufacturing platform to serve innovative companies across the Americas.
You will research, identify, and document potential manufacturing partners (CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, die casting, forging, etc.) to help Fictiv's sourcing team make data-driven decisions. Your work will directly contribute to expanding the supplier pool, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring a reliable supply chain for customers.
Key responsibilities include:
**Supplier Research & Market Intelligence**: Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers through online searches (Google, Alibaba), industry exhibitions, customs data, and trade directories. Compile and maintain a structured supplier database with key details including capabilities, certifications, and location. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging suppliers in CNC, sheet metal, injection molding, die casting, forging, and other manufacturing processes.
**Supplier Pre-Qualification Support**: Collect and document basic supplier information such as production capacity, equipment, and certifications. Assist in preparing potential supplier lists for further evaluation by the sourcing team. Support the team in organizing supplier outreach and initial communications.
**Data Management & Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of supplier research findings in internal systems. Prepare supplier research and industry reports for team review. Help track supplier performance metrics such as delivery times and responsiveness.
**Internal Collaboration**: Work closely with the sourcing team to prioritize research needs. Attend industry exhibitions when necessary to gather supplier and market trend information. Provide administrative support in supplier onboarding, including NDA/MSA coordination.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field. 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing supply chain or supplier development environment. Self-directed and motivated profile with interest in developing sourcing and manufacturing expertise. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing supplier data accurately. Research-oriented with comfort analyzing market data and identifying top suppliers. Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with the sourcing team. Basic technical curiosity and willingness to learn about CNC, die casting, and other processes. Experience in at least 1–2 manufacturing areas.
Travel: 0–10%, mostly within Monterrey.
