SumUp is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead hardware procurement and supplier strategy for its Manufacturing & Supply Chain team. This newly created role offers the opportunity to build a sourcing function from the ground up, working with a fintech company that serves over 4 million small businesses across 39 markets.
You will define sourcing strategies for hardware commodities and raw materials, balancing cost, quality, supply continuity and scalability. Key responsibilities include leading supplier identification, qualification and selection through RFIs, RFQs and RFPs with competitive benchmarking; negotiating pricing, lead times, capacity commitments and contract terms to secure reliable, competitive supply agreements; building and maintaining a diversified, resilient supplier base while tracking performance and mitigating risks such as single sourcing or capacity constraints; partnering with Engineering, Quality and Operations teams on new product introductions, cost reduction projects and supplier audits; and owning sourcing cost targets, tracking market trends and reporting savings and performance to Finance.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Quality, Finance and Operations to turn sourcing plans into results. The role is based in SumUp's Berlin office with an office-first setup.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong track record in strategic sourcing and supplier selection, ideally within hardware, electronics or manufacturing
- Confident commercial negotiation skills, with experience securing pricing, capacity and contract terms that protect quality and supply continuity
- Solid understanding of supplier contracts, commercial terms and cost structures, including should-cost and total-cost-of-ownership analysis
- Experience managing supplier performance through scorecards, reviews and corrective action plans
- Comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Finance and Operations
