OpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building advanced AI infrastructure ecosystems in partnership with leading cloud providers, engineering firms, construction partners, and equipment manufacturers. The Strategic Sourcing team develops and executes commercial strategies ensuring reliable access to equipment, materials, and strategic partners needed to deliver hyperscale AI campuses at unprecedented scale. As Strategic Sourcing Manager for Data Center Infrastructure, you will lead sourcing strategy for critical infrastructure systems powering Industrial Compute campuses globally. You'll develop long-term commercial strategies, negotiate strategic supplier agreements, and manage relationships across engineering, construction, manufacturing, and infrastructure partners responsible for delivering mission-critical facilities. Key responsibilities include: developing sourcing strategies for data center infrastructure systems; leading strategic supplier selection, RFx processes, and contract execution for major programs; building executive relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, EPC firms, and vendors; partnering with Infrastructure Delivery and Engineering to align sourcing with project schedules and technical requirements; collaborating with Capacity Planning to ensure supplier capacity aligns with infrastructure roadmaps; evaluating supplier capabilities across manufacturing, quality, financial health, and operational maturity; identifying and mitigating supply chain risks through diversification and long-term agreements; monitoring global market conditions and geopolitical risks; developing supplier scorecards and performance metrics; supporting executive decisions through financial analysis and market intelligence; and partnering with Legal and Finance to structure scalable commercial agreements. You'll work closely with Infrastructure Delivery, Capacity Planning, Engineering, Finance, Construction, and external suppliers to ensure Industrial Compute has the capacity, relationships, and commercial frameworks required for rapid global expansion. The ideal candidate has experience sourcing major infrastructure systems for hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial construction, semiconductor manufacturing, or complex capital projects.
