As a Strategic Partnerships Associate, you will support the full partnership lifecycle from opportunity evaluation through deal execution, launch, ongoing management, and performance optimization. A core responsibility is developing visibility into partnership activity across SoFi and connecting dots across business units to identify expansion opportunities, consolidate overlapping partner conversations, and create greater strategic and commercial value.
Key responsibilities include: supporting identification and evaluation of strategic partnership opportunities aligned with business priorities; building relationships across business units to surface partnership needs and proactively connect opportunities; identifying ways to expand existing partnerships across products, business units, or use cases; surfacing overlapping partnership needs and coordinating unified approaches to reduce fragmentation and improve commercial terms; partnering with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and other stakeholders to evaluate opportunities to consolidate or coordinate commercial agreements; building business cases and financial analyses to assess partnership opportunities including market potential, economics, strategic fit, and risks; conducting market, competitive, and partner research to identify trends and growth opportunities; supporting partnership discussions and deal processes including materials preparation, commercial term evaluation, and diligence coordination; owning or supporting relationships with external partners as a day-to-day point of contact; coordinating cross-functional workstreams with Product, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to launch and scale partnerships; developing and maintaining partnership performance reporting with relevant KPIs; preparing clear recommendations and presentations for internal stakeholders; managing multiple partnership initiatives simultaneously with clear timelines and deliverables; and identifying opportunities to improve partnership processes and operating models.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree; 2+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related partnerships-focused role; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to evaluate business opportunities and synthesize quantitative and qualitative information; strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority; and strong business judgment and curiosity.
