OpenAI is seeking a Strategic Partner Manager to build, scale, and manage strategic partnerships that advance the company's priorities and accelerate adoption of its AI platform across key industries and use cases.
You will own a portfolio of strategic partnerships as a business, driving day-to-day partnership strategy and execution across priority partners. This includes setting direction, prioritizing opportunities, and delivering outcomes aligned to OpenAI's product and company goals. You'll support partnership deal execution from partner evaluation through launch, expansion, and renewal, handling both product integrations and commercial terms.
As a cross-functional driver, you will coordinate internal teams (product, engineering, research, sales, finance, legal, marketing) and external partners to launch, manage, and optimize partnership initiatives end-to-end. You'll serve as the internal advocate for partners, aligning product and cross-functional teams to partner goals, applying thoughtful pushback on roadmap tradeoffs, and driving accountability against agreed success metrics.
Key responsibilities include establishing and managing working rhythms with partners through business reviews, planning sessions, and issue resolution; defining success metrics and monitoring performance (adoption, revenue, usage, satisfaction); and clearly communicating progress, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders. You'll build strong partner relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for partner counterparts and identifying new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience in business development, product partnerships, or product within the technology industry, with proven experience supporting or leading strategic partnerships including technical/product integrations. You should be a strong cross-functional operator comfortable working with product, engineering, legal, finance, and sales teams to execute complex initiatives. You'll demonstrate the ability to independently own and scale partner relationships over time, identify expansion opportunities, and drive long-term value. Strong strategic judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity are essential. Experience at high-growth companies is preferred.
